Why Are We Changing Our Branding?

Seriously, why are we doing this after only one year with proper branding? Are we playing some kind of trick? Hold on, let us explain.
What We Wanted to Achieve
When we first decided to create our own branding and website, we were at a really interesting stage, something every business might experience at some point. Up until then, we mainly provided services to other agencies and studios, mostly in the US. Everything was going great. Honestly, we could have continued down that path forever.
But deep down, we all wanted to build something bigger. Something of our own. We knew it wouldn’t be easy, especially for a small team based in Danang, Vietnam.
We had a good talk and came to the same conclusion: “Why not?” So we created a logo, built branding around it, and launched a website. We had fun with animation, 3D, and writing content. We even printed our own tees with those little pixel characters (credits to Shutterstock). For the limited time we had, we’re super proud of what we pulled off.
After launch, we didn’t really know where things would go, but we were excited. That much was clear.
The Result
New things started rolling in.
We got contacted by someone in Portugal looking for help integrating a Mapbox interactive map into Webflow. Not something we expected, but a great experience nonetheless. We dove into the code, dissected examples, and fixed bugs. It showed us a different side of Webflow that we could definitely grow into.
Then came a client from Thailand, asking us to test Webflow and consult on their project. We couldn’t continue with it long-term, but the ideation and Webflow experimentation were a blast.
We also got our first chance to work on a Crypto/Web3 project, a website heavy on 3D. It happened over a holiday and was quite rushed, but it pushed us to new limits.
And of course, a local business in Danang reached out for their website. That project really opened our eyes to the problems many Vietnamese businesses face when it comes to digital presence, something we hope to tackle more directly in our new direction.
Along with many other projects that we continue working with our US partners. Overall, we achieved what we set out to do: get our name out there, explore new opportunities, and gain a clearer understanding of the challenges businesses face and how we can help.
The Problems We Noticed
Here are some real issues we observed—on our end and on our clients’ side:
- We’re not great at video meetings. It’s true. We love to create and ideate, but video calls constantly stress us out. The introvert team struggle is real. We're working on it but it’ll take some time.
- Small and mid-size businesses struggle to sustain their efforts. We’ve seen so many launches with a great design or marketing push, only to burn out after 2–3 months due to budget constraints. Design and marketing are long games. You can’t expect to dominate right away. Unless you have a big budget, which most don’t.
- Inconsistent design is everywhere. Many businesses still don’t see the value of a consistent design system that shows their character. And again, budget plays a huge role in those decisions.
- The revision trap is real. We've explored platforms like Upwork and Fiverr. Sometimes you're lucky and get a designer who cares. Sometimes you get half-baked work and endless revision fees. Most business owners don't know how to express their ideas clearly, and they get lost in translation.
- Scope creep. We love helping clients. While working on a website, we’ll often lend a hand with branding, content, or other things. But when the work goes beyond the original scope and we have to charge extra, the conversation always feels awkward. Because it wasn’t clearly defined from the start.
The Subscription Model and Why a New Branding
All of this led us to a new idea: a subscription-based model. It’s already common in other industries, so why not bring it into the design world?
You pay a fixed monthly fee, and we work continuously with you. Simple right? Almost too good to be true?
Of course, there are some limits, but the benefits are big:
- Unlimited revisions. We’ll keep improving things together until it’s right.
- Multi-domain support. Logo, branding, social graphics, website, and more. One subscription covers it all.
- Cancel anytime. No complicated cancellations, no messy hand-offs. Cancel, and we’ll keep supporting you until the end of that month.
- Full control. You can track tasks and project progress yourself.
- Budget-friendly. Fixed monthly fee, no surprises. You can plan ahead with confidence. That is unless the world economy collapses (We hope this will not be the case)
We’re really excited about where this model could take us and our clients. We believe it’s a perfect fit for the small and mid-sized businesses we work with most.
With that said, we knew this shift needed a new branding to match. Something more versatile, more forward-looking. We still love our current branding, but it’s beginning to feel limiting as we explore new services. You can read more in this article where we dive deeper into what those limitations are.
As for the new branding itself, check out this article to see what we’re cooking up and the vision behind it. The team’s loving it already and can’t wait to get our new tees and mugs.
What About Fixed Projects?
We’re not abandoning fixed project work. Not at all. We just want to offer more flexible options so our clients can choose what works best for them. If you have a solid plan and a defined scope, the fixed model is still a great fit.
Thanks for sticking with us through all of this. We’re pumped for what’s next. And we hope you are too.
